Is BubbleMarkets free?
Yes. BubbleMarkets is free to use and you do not need an account to view the live bubble charts. Optional paid plans add extras like price alerts, an AI market summary, a developer API and multi-monitor dashboards, but the core bubble maps for every market are free.
How is BubbleMarkets different from Crypto Bubbles (cryptobubbles.net)?
Crypto Bubbles visualizes cryptocurrencies only. BubbleMarkets applies the same bubble-chart idea to stocks, ETFs, crypto, forex, commodities, bonds and world indices — all on one site — so you can compare performance across markets, not just within crypto. BubbleMarkets also adds a portfolio tracker, market screener, price alerts, AI summaries and crawlable per-market pages that a crypto-only tool doesn't offer.
What is a bubble chart in finance?
A bubble chart in finance is a visualization where each asset is a circle whose size represents one variable — usually market capitalization or trading volume — and whose colour represents another, typically price performance over a chosen timeframe. It lets you assess an entire market's structure and momentum in seconds rather than reading a table row by row.
How do the bubbles work — what do size and colour mean?
Each bubble is one asset. Its size reflects market capitalization (you can also switch to size by trading volume or by percentage change), and its colour reflects the price move over the timeframe you pick — green means the price is up, red means it is down, and a neutral grey means roughly flat. Bigger green bubbles are large assets that are up; small red bubbles are smaller assets that are down.
What asset classes does BubbleMarkets cover?
BubbleMarkets covers US stocks (around 1,500 of the most-traded companies), Asian and European stocks, ETFs (about 200 funds), cryptocurrencies (around 16,000 coins), forex (around 130 currencies plus cross pairs), commodities (100+ contracts across metals, energy, battery metals and agriculture), bonds (fixed-income ETFs across Treasuries, corporate, muni and high-yield) and the world's major stock indices (S&P 500, Nasdaq, Dow, FTSE, Nikkei, DAX and more).
How often does the data update?
Market data refreshes continuously during market hours. Cryptocurrency and forex update around the clock, and the crypto board streams live prices. Stocks, ETFs, commodities, bonds and indices update on a short interval while their markets are open.
What timeframes can I view?
You can colour the bubbles by the price move over 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days, and longer ranges (3 months, 6 months and 1 year) are available too. Switching the timeframe recolours the whole board so you can see short-term momentum or longer trends.
Can I compare different asset classes on the same platform?
Yes. BubbleMarkets' multi-asset view lets you move between stocks, ETFs, crypto, forex, commodities, bonds and indices in one place, which is not possible on single-asset-class visualizers. You can also click a stock to see every ETF that holds it, or open an ETF to see its holdings as bubbles.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No. BubbleMarkets runs in any modern web browser with no download or installation, and you can view every bubble map without signing up. Creating a free account unlocks personal features like a saved watchlist, portfolio tracking and price alerts.
Does BubbleMarkets have alerts, a portfolio tracker and a screener?
Yes. Signed-in users get a watchlist and a portfolio tracker with live profit/loss, plus a market screener and sector heat maps. Paid plans add price and percentage-move alerts, volume-spike alerts, AI-generated market summaries and a public market-data API.
Is my account secure?
Yes. BubbleMarkets supports two-factor authentication (2FA) with any authenticator app, protects sign-up and login with a bot captcha, enforces strong passwords and signs you out after a period of inactivity. Payments are handled by Stripe and account data is scoped so only you can see your own watchlist, portfolio and alerts.
Can I use BubbleMarkets on my phone?
Yes. BubbleMarkets works in the browser on phones and tablets as well as desktop. Native mobile apps are on the way.
What do the badges on some bubbles mean?
Small badges flag notable activity on a bubble: a flame marks an unusual move for that asset, a lightning bolt marks a highly tradeable asset, a wave marks high turnover, and a rocket marks accelerating momentum. They are quick visual cues so standout assets are easy to spot on a busy board.
